US Veterans Affairs Educational Assistance

U.S. Veterans Affairs Educational Assistance

We are proud to support U.S. service members, veterans, and their families in pursuing their educational and career goals. As part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, we uphold the commitment to provide accessible, affordable, and supportive education for those who have served our country.

In accordance with SUNY system policies, eligible students may apply for veteran-related educational benefits and scholarship opportunities offered through SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology.

Currently, these opportunities are available to students enrolled in specific academic programs approved for participation.

Veterans’ Benefits Eligibility and Contact Information (FIT)

The eligibility for U.S. veterans’ educational benefits is determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). If you or your family members qualify for VA benefits, you may apply through the appropriate VA programs such as the GI Bill® .

Your enrollment is certified by the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), which is responsible for verifying your registration with the VA once you are admitted and registered for classes. This certification is necessary to ensure you receive the appropriate educational benefits.

Students interested in applying for benefits under any of the VA educational assistance programs should contact:

Herbert Walton, V.A. Certifying Official
