Biography
Jayeon Kwon studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design (RI, USA) and earned both her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Western painting from Ewha Womans University. Her artistic endeavors delve into the realms of the unseen, the obscured, the forgotten, and the transient, manifesting through drawing and installation. Rather than conjuring entirely new creations, she focuses on uncovering and revitalizing existing spaces and the memories they hold, weaving them together. Jayeon has taken part in residencies both domestically and internationally, including at MMCA Changdong Residency (Seoul, Korea), ISCP (New York, USA), and Vermont Studio Center (Vermont, USA). Additionally, she has curated and executed projects such as the Seoksu Art Project - International Residency Program, Imaginary Library, and Open Studio Project as extensions of her artistic journey.
